Thigh lift is the procedure to remove excess skin and fat deposits in the inner aspect of the thigh. Women in particular tend to develop a fatty collection in this area that results in unpleasant contour deformities.

Dr Cortés will assess the amount of skin and fat in order to give you a gradual surgical approach that will, in certain cases, minimize the scarring. Depending on the degree of fat and quality of the skin, liposuction alone might be enough to reach a good result. Liposuction can also be combined with skin incision.

The surgery can be done as inpatient (in the hospital), if additional procedures are done at the same time like a tummy tuck. Most commonly, the procedure can be done as an outpatient, if performed alone. The The surgery usually takes about 2-4 hours. Complications associated with this procedure include: infection, bleeding, and scar widening. Since only skin and fat are removed, muscle function remains unaffected.

Patients will need to wear a garment for 3- 4 weeks, if liposuction is performed. Most patiens will return to work in 7-10 days.
